“If you carry joy in your heart, you can heal any moment.”......Carlos Santana
Dear Del Mar Families!!!
We have all become a living part of history during the past 17+ months….At Del Mar, we have emerged from these life storms with a message of hope and the knowledge that joy can be found in every moment.
Welcome to the new school year! I am so excited that “school” is back physically and that we will all be
I understand that there were multiple challenges and hurdles that you had to face down over the course of this past year. I want you to know that we are your extended family and we are here to sustain and uphold your scholars and your family during this time of reclamation.
We continue to believe in the power and greatness of this place we all call school. I promise you that it is here in this community that you will find hope, support in developing personal strength, and a belief that there are endless possibilities for all of us to build up our community.
Here at Del Mar, we know that we can impact the future of all of our scholars. As a school, we commit to daily empower the students to understand that they can always make a positive impact in their school, their community, and in their homes. Building upon our scholars' social and emotional well-being is a priority.  During the course of the first weeks of school, we will deeply focus on the social-emotional wellness of all of our students. We will continue to lead with love. We will seek to be a daily model of social justice and we will build upon our culture of a “Growth Mindset”.
I am both humbled and proud to be the principal of Del Mar Elementary School. Through careful planning, dedicated and creative collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to support our scholars through every challenge, the Del Mar staff and community has created a learning environment in which your scholar will  thrive! Please know that I always welcome and benefit from both your involvement and feedback!

Sincerely,                                                                                                                                                                      Marilyn Rockey, Principal
